As a kings fan, we get those stupid calls all the time. Those should be reviewed in my opinion.

First - I was watching that game, that was awful! I hate BB but totally agree with his fury. The officiating has been atrocious! However, on par with the uneven distribution of the Shannaban this season. I remember a business principle that alludes to the organization acts and functions like its management.....well it's been pretty awful this season.

Second...what is up with Perry this year? I needed an assist from him and 1 "hit" last night to advance to the fantasy championship and I got nothing. He seems like he’s playing "soft". No edge? I know the team is out of it but it seems like he's been bad all year. Any thoughts from a Duck's fan? Thanks.

Great blog Steve, couldn't have said it better. Can you imagine the Ducks getting that call if they had a realistic shot at the playoffs? Bruce would have had a stroke!

I said this last night, there is not another major sport that has worse officiating than hockey.

Wow, that is terrible.

I'm pretty sure all the refs had to do was look up at the jumbo-tron as it replayed the goal several times in different angles.

Ducks deserved a better fate.

He probably shouldn't be playing. His shoulder injury is really bothering him and he hasn't been the same since he hurt it.

I will dust off my post from the other day, as it clearly still applies...

"If your team loses it is their fault, no one else's. Bobby Ryan and the Ducks apparently fail to grasp that concept....."

Still blaming the officials I see.

Poor call because the rules say that should have been a goal. That said, I would like to see the days of old where players are not allowed in the crease. Could reduce goalie injuries IMHO. If the rule was written that way, then no goal. Since it isn't it was a GOOD goal.

Exact same play happened to the Oilers vs. Colorado a few weeks ago. It also happened to Nashville vs. the Oilers last week. Happens way too often and it should be reviewable.

??? If it's 2-2 the Ducks don't have to gamble by sending Lubo into the zone and they don't give up the 2 on 1 Rolston goal. The game is played tight again like it was in the first period. That doesn't guarantee anything of course.
The Bruins got a great break, be thankful not contemptuous.

If that goal gets waved off, the NHL's offensive production will bw cut in half. Thats criminal to be called off. Players are in the crease all the time during goals, both pushed in and not. Never called. Thats a goal, BB has every right to be furious.

Much like the break the Ducks got to receive the PP that led to Selanne's goal. Sh!t happens, every team deals with it.

Duckies, we even had Turco in Net last night and you have to blame the official

Plenty of chances to tie the game after that goal was waived off, but you couldn't bury your chances. That is why you Lost the game.

Or Whatever just keep crying

When is the NHL going to officially change the referee uniforms from black and white to black and gold?

Ok I really could not care any less about the outcome of this game. The season is already over so I'm really not going to complain that the bruins won. I think what Steve is trying to show and focus on is the play itself. Everyone has to agree that it was a terrible call. Yes, Cogs was in the crease but who cares. Holmstrom makes a living parking himself in the crease and has done that his entire career. I'm sick of this double standard in the nhl. Something just has to be done.

In terms of the ducks getting shafted in terms of officiating more so than other teams- who knows. I cannot say that I watch other teams as much as the ducks so I can't say that the ducks get the brunt end of this. But what I can say is that this is nothing new for the ducks. The refs definitely act on the ducks reputation and proceed accordingly. This is pretty sad since the burke age is over along with the extremely physical team that came along with it. Something needs to give.. fast.

We already have Colin Campbell, we don't need the refs.

Also, the Bruins had a goal called back this year vs Buffalo where Peverly was not even in the crease and did not impede Miller. The studio reaction pretty much sums it up.

he may not have made contact, but he certainly blocked the goaltender's ability to move to his left by standing inside the crease directly next to his body. Sorry, if you block out the goaltender without touching him, it's still interference. It's been called a few times this year, and if you don't think that was blocking the goaltender's ability to move inside his crease you're not watching the same video.

this wasn't interference in my opinion. Of the two videos, this is the bad call.
